15 DAYS: BUENOS AIRES-BARILOCHE-LOS SIETE LAGOS-CRUCE ANDINO-

DAY 1: BUENOS AIRES

Arrival to the capital of Argentina. Transfer to the hotel and after a short break we will start visiting Buenos Aires, once called the Paris of the South. We will see the colorful district of La Boca, as well as the beautiful streets of San Telmo. We will visit the Cathedral and Plaza de Mayo – the main square of the city, the site of many historical events, including the May Revolution, as well as demonstrations and protests. Then the elegant and aristocratic district of Recoleta and the famous cemetery, considered a work of art, being the resting place of many famous personalities, such as Evita Peron. Overnight in the hotel.

DAY 2: BUENOS AIRES – BARILOCHE – VILLA LA ANGOSTURA     

Today you will take a flight to Bariloche, from where you will be transferred to the Villa La Angostura. –  resort on shore of Nahuel Huapi glacial Lake, surrounded by forests and Andes mountains, with beautiful Alpine-style wooden buildings. Overnight in the hotel.


DAY 3:  RUTA DE LOS SIETE LAGOS          

Today you will enjoy the famous Ruta de los Siete Lagos (“the Seven Lakes Route”) winds through one of the most picturesque areas of northern Argentine Patagonia, connecting the popular towns of Villa La Angostura and San Martin de los Andes in the province of Neuquen. You will travel Route 234, which now forms part of the famous Route 40. You will cross through two national parks: Lanin and Nahuel Huapi encountering seven different lakes along the way, as the name suggests. These are lakes Nahuel Huapi, Espejo, Correntoso, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner and Machónico.  each attraction has a unique landscape, surrounded by olive and lush forests. Once in San Martin de los Andes, on the shore of Lake Lacar, you will explore the city and the main street. Back to Villa La Angostura. Overnight at the hotel.


DAY 4: BOSQUE DE ARRAYANES – BARILOCHE                    

Today you will enjoy tour to see amazing forest of Arrayanes. The Futaleufú Catamaran sails from Puerto de la Mansa (official port of Villa La Angostura) to Bosque Los Arrayanes, located in the extreme southwest of the Quetrihué Peninsula.

Due to the characteristics of this northern sector of Lake Nahuel Huapi, navigation is extremely calm, obtaining maximum comfort to be able to enjoy the wonderful environment offered by the bays of the Villa (Balsas, Cumelén and Manzano) and the setting of the Andes. After sailing 45 minutes, you will arrive at the Los Arrayanes Forest, unique in the world for the purity and size of its specimens up to 400 years old, with a height of 25 m. and a diameter of 1 m. approximately, and with its incomparable and irresistible cinnamon-colored bark and cold to the touch. A separate gift if they are in bloom and not to mention, if magic accompanies it, to see the orchids that grow on the trunks of the ground.

In the Forest you will travel its trails with our professional guides, who will transmit to you, above all things, the care and respect with which we must treat our Reserves and National Parks and natural life in general, as some than other interesting anecdotes and stories about the area.

At the end of the tour, you can visit the Tea House of the Forest, a picturesque building from 1933. Without a doubt, when you return to Villa La Angostura, you will be imbued with the magic, the mysteries and the beauty of this paradisiacal place.

Next you will travel to San Carlos de Bariloche (commonly called Bariloche) is a town in Argentina’s Patagonia region. It borders as well with Nahuel Huapi surrounded by the Andes Mountains. Bariloche is known for its Swiss alpine-style architecture and its chocolate, sold in shops lining Calle Mitre, the main street.


DAY 5: CRUCE ANDINO          

Today you will have a unique experience sailing through The Andes Mountains across three beautiful lakes that are connected by four overland legs, from San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina to Puerto Varas in Chile. A journey that can be enjoyed on any day of the year, exploring the beauty of mountainous landscapes that take you through the most colorful region of the Patagonia. You will sail across Lago Nahuel Huapi. You will observe the grandeur of the landscapes, the green tones of the forests and birds that fly close. Next lake will be Lago Frias. Along stretch of this lake, you will experience beautiful views of Cerro Tronador. Time for a break in Peulla, an ecological lodge and a paradise for nutere lovers. Here you can get a lunch (additional coast). And now time for Lago Todos los Santos, here if the weather permits, different and breathtaking views of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. You will continue to Puerto Varas passing by Lago Llanquihe. Impressive views of Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes dominate the landscape. Arrival to Puerto Varas. Overnight at the hotel.


DAY 6: ALERCE ANDINO NP                 

Today you will go on a trekking trip to the Alerce Andino National Park, created in 1982 and part of the Moderate Rainforest Biosphere Reserve in the Southern Andes, located 1.5 hours from the city of Puerto Varas. Trip will be dominated by a forest consisting of larch, evergreen, coigüe de Magallanes and lenga. Among the mammals that, with a bit of luck, you might be able to see a pudu, a gray fox and a chingue, or perhaps a puma, güin or a mountain monkey that lives there! In the sky, in the treetops and steep walls of the Andean massif, you can see the condor, the black woodpecker, huet huet, kingfisher, peuco, caiquén, cachudito and torcaza, and in its countless lakes the native fish “percatrucha”. The total route will be almost 8 kilometers to Laguna Triangulo and return along the same path (maximum altitude 551m and around 6-8 hours round trip). One of the main goals will be to discover one of the oldest species on Earth: Larch or Lahuen, reaching over 60 meters and 2,600 years!


DAY 7: VICENTE PEREZ ROSALES NP                           

During this Full Day in the Vicente Perez Rosales national park you will visit the Petrohue waterfalls, navigate the Emerald lake, hike in the slopes of Osorno and when the weather is nice, you will marvel with the view of most of the volcanoes in the area. But, if rain and clouds join us, you will be more focus in the flora and how the volcano is modulating the landscape. Distance of your trekking will cover app. 7km.

We will park our transport in the Petrohue port, from here we will take a local motor boat that will bring us to “La Poza”. We will hike from the shore of the lake part of the trail “Los Alerces” before we head our hike up in “La Desolación” trail, ending the climb at the top of a small waterfall, place where you will enjoy our lunch.

On the way back we will cross some of the lahars where today runs the melted snow from the volcano into the lake, bringing the rock-flour responsible of the turquoise color of the waters.

Most of the trails that we will use were made in first half of the XX century by settlers seeking the snowy slopes for ski and the alerce trees for built the typical wooden houses from Puerto Varas.  This is the most visited area of the park and where you can easily enjoy the flora that shapes the moving soil of our volcanoes while experience the best views of the lakes district


DAY 8: ISLAND OF CHILOE

Today you will begin excursion on the way to the town of Pargua, south of Puerto Varas, from where you will board a ferry to navigate through the Chacao Channel, which separates the mainland from the Isla Grande de Chiloé. During the navigation you will be able to observe sea lions, pelicans and marine birds typical of this region.

We will dock in the town of Chacao, where you will be able to observe typical Larch wood constructions and also one of the churches declared a National Monument, then we will continue along a coastal route where you will visit the Caulín & Lacuy Spa, a place well known for its oysters and its rich marine fauna, to finally arrive at the city of Ancud, where you will be able to see the Fort of San Antonio; Historic site located in the upper part of the city, built at the end of the 18th century and which is part of one of the last Spanish fortifications in our country, the Foundation of Heritage Churches, the Plaza de Armas and its Municipal Market that offers various options gastronomy and crafts of the Island. Overnight in Puerto Varas.


DAY 9:  PUERTO VARAS – PUERTO MONTT – PUNTA ARENAS – PUERTO NATALES

Today you will take a flight to the capital of Chilean Patagonia – Punta Arenas. After arrival you will travel to Puerto Natales a city located on the bay of Last Hope “Ultima Esperanza”, which is the gateway to the Torres del Paine National Park. Overnight at the hotel.


DAY 10: TORRES DEL PAINE NP

Today you will go to the Torres del Paine National Park, the most beautiful mountain national park of the South American continent. It is a national park that has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and according to National Geographic it is the fifth most beautiful place in the world. Named the Eighth Miracle of Nature, it delights every visitor. On the way stop for visit at Cueva del Milodon – cave famous for the discovery of the remains of the extinct giant sloth Mylodon Darwini. We continue our tour toward the park. We will see the beautiful lake and beach of Lago Grey with lookout on Grey Glacier, Lago Nordenskjold, Lago Pehoe overlooking the majestic Cuernos del Paine and Mount Paine Grande with a spectacular view of the massif. Great views will accompany us throughout the trip and along the way we will be able to observe herds of guanacos, soaring condors, and if you are lucky, you may be able to see the king of these areas – the puma. Overnight in the hotel in Puerto Natales.


DAY 11: BASE LAS TORRES

Today we will face a demanding trail worthy of its reputation to one of the most important places in the Torres del Paine National Park – Base las Torres. We will start our journey up from Hosteria las Torres. We will overcome Valle Ascencio and cross the Ascencio River. Panoramic views of the pampas, lakes and the valley itself will reward us with a 2.5-kilometre walk up the gusty wind. The trail then descends to Refugio El Chileno. The vegetation here corresponds to the Pre-Andean matorral, then quickly changes to forest. The last step is the hardest. It runs 0.8 km, takes about 45 minutes and takes you to the Las Torres viewpoint of three giant granite towers. After resting, return towards Hosteria Las Torres and return to Puerto Natales.

DAY 12: BALMACEDA & SERRANO GLACIER

In the morning you will depart from meeting point to Puerto Bories for a navigation to Bernardo O’Higgins National Park – the incredible world of the fjords. On the way you can observe native wildlife, visit the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers and enjoy a delicious Whiskey with millennial ice, navigating through the Ultima Esperanza. In the afternoon you will travel towards Punta Arenas. Overnight in Punta Arenas.


DAY 13: MAGDALENA ISLAND – SANTIAGO DE CHILE

Very early in the morning you will go on a cruise through the Strait of Magellan to the Magdalena Island to the colony of the Magellan penguin, numbering over 150,000. birds. During the cruise, you will also sail around Marta Island, which is home to sea lions. It will be an unforgettable experience. After these exciting moments and returning to the shore, you will go to Punta Arenas to the airport for a flight to the capital of Chile – Santiago de Chile. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 14:  SANTIAGO DE CHILE

Today you will visit Santiago de Chile – capital and largest city, sits in a valley surrounded by the snow-capped Andes and the Chilean Coast Range. After arrival you will visit most important places in this cosmopolitan city like: Plaza de Armas with Cathedral and old Post building, presidential palace La Moneda, tiny neighborhoods of Paris – Londres with the historic church of San Francisco. At the end, you will go to the famous San Cristobal hill, where you will use the cable car and enter the vantage point from where you will admire the panoramic view of the capitals and the Andes Mountain ranges. Overnight in Santiago.


DAY 15: SANTIAGO AIRPORT

Transfer from hotel to the airport for your flight home
